Time was a key factor as rivals Nation Ford and Catawba Ridge meet.

Nation Ford used a strong second half to put away rival Catawba Ridge 17-13.

The Falcons went into halftime with a 3-0 lead, but two second-half touchdown passes from junior quarterback Kaden Barnette to fellow junior wide receiver Josh Ameo allowed the home team to pull away.

Catawba Ridge fought furiously to get back in this game late. Junior Andrew Turner scrambled left out of the pocket before tossing a 27-yard touchdown pass to senior Jackson Burger with 2:11 left in the game.

The Copperheads then recovered the subsequent onside kick, and a few players later, Turner found tight end Brady Ambrose for a 34-yard touchdown pass to make it 17-13.

However, Nation Ford managed to recover the next onside kick and salt the game away as Copperheads ran out of time on their final possession.
