The Bearcats’ sophomore was runner-up in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 53.66 and third in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.81, both in state consideration times, in a meet with Catawba Ridge and Clover, Sept. 5.
Canty also swam school record times to finish eight in the 200-yard freestyle (1:55.49) and sixth in the 500-yard freestyle (5:08.68--automatic state qualifying time) at the Upstate Invitational at Fort Mill Aquatic Center, Sept. 9.
