A Rock Hill High swimmer is The Herald’s Athlete of the Week

The Bearcats’ senior co-captain helped the Rock Hill girls’ swimming team to a “Rock Hill City Championship,” as they won the “Crosstown Throw Down,” against Northwestern and South Pointe at Rock Hill Aquatic Center, Sept. 28.

Newport finished ninth-place in the 50 freestyle (34.75), seventh in the 100 breaststroke (1:36.72), while helping the 200 medley relay to a third-place finish (2:27.00) and the 400 freestyle relay to a sixth-place finish (5:49.60) at the same meet.
