Rock Hill-area prep basketball gameday: Previewing the weekend’s games

High school basketball season is under way, and we have a busy weekend schedule for teams in York, Lancaster and Chester counties. Here is a preview of some top contests:

FRIDAY

Butler at Indian Land, girls-boys doubleheader starts at 6 p.m. — Let’s start with the girls’ matchup. Butler (4-0) is led by 6-4 senior center Chloe Ross (17.7 ppg, 13.0 rpg), and guard Brooklyn Saunders is averaging 7.0 assists per game. Indian Land (1-1) is getting 19.5 points and 10 rebounds a contest from junior Emily Callahan. In the boys’ contest, Butler (4-0) has an outstanding scorer in junior Terrance Badio (19.7 ppg), and the Bulldogs play solid defense. Indian Land (5-0) is led by junior all-state guard Michael Jones, with a 19.8-point scoring average. This should be an entertaining doubleheader.
