Riverwalk Academy basketball player Austin Thurman is The Herald’s high school athete of the week.
Thurman, a 6-foot-4 senior, scored 22 points, had 10 rebounds and three assists in a 66-59 loss to Walnut Grove on Dec. 17.
Thurman also scored 17 points, had eight rebounds and two blocks in a 56-27 loss to Lamar on Dec. 19.
Thurman is averaging 12 points and 9.7 rebounds per game for Riverwalk Academy (1-5) this season.
