Riverwalk Academy’s Emme Herring is The Herald’s high school athlete of the week.
Herring, a freshman distance specialist for the Lions, ran a personal-best 2:44.14 to win the 800-meter run March 13 at York High.
Herring also ran a 6:02.21 to finish eighth in the 1600-meter run March 15 at the Trojan Relays at Northwestern High.
Herring owns school records in both the 800-meter run (2:44.14) and 1600-meter run (5:58.08).
