Trinity Delly, Andrew Jackson girls’ basketball: The 5-foot-7 junior shooting guard scored 21 points, including four 3-pointers, to go with nine rebounds, seven assists, seven steals and two blocks in a 73-44 win over Lakewood on Dec. 5.

Delly is averaging 10.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 4.8 assists for Andrew Jackson (1-4) this season.

Ashton Gist, Lancaster wrestling: The Bruins’ sophomore earned a first-period pin against Hartsville and second-period pin against Buford, both at 150 pounds, as the Lancaster wrestling team finished third in the three-team match on Dec. 2.

Gist also pinned his 150-pound opponent in first period as the Bruins beat Andrew Jackson on Dec. 4.

Alex Johnson, Catawba Ridge wrestling: The Copperheads’ junior won all five matches by pin to earn the 285-pound (heavyweight) title at the Southern Slam Invitational at Eastside High Dec. 5-6.

Johnson was dominant in his efforts, spending only 7 minutes, 28 seconds on the mat in the five pins.

Johnson also won his 100th career match in the tournament semifinals, and is now 101-17 in his Catawba Ridge career, including 72 pinfalls.

Xavier Means, Northwestern football: The 6-foot, 155-pound junior quarterback completed 13 of 16 passes for 186 yards passing and two touchdown , while also running for 60 yards and four more TDs on 10 carries. Means led Northwestern to a decisive 55-13 victory over Irmo in the 5A Division II state championship game at Oliver Dawson Stadium in Orangeburg on Dec. 5.

Means passed for 2,873 yards and 25 touchdowns, while rushing for 1,239 yards and 27 more scores for Northwestern (13-1) this season.

Jermier Nelson, Fort Mill basketball: The 6-2 sophomore point guard scored 18 points and had five rebounds and three assists in a 58-49 win at Lancaster on Dec. 2.

Nelson also scored 16 points, had five rebounds and six assists in a 61-47 win over Gaffney on Dec. 5.

Nelson finished off the week with 28 points and two rebounds in a 60-56 loss to Boiling Springs on Dec. 6.

Fort Mill is 5-2 this season.

Tre Raymon, South Pointe basketball: The 6-8 senior scored 28 points and had four assists in a 59-56 win at Northwestern on Dec. 2.

Raymon also scored 15 points, grabbed seven rebounds and had five assists in an 84-53 win over Rock Hill.

South Pointe is 4-3 this season.
