Ni’Yonna Asbelle, Andrew Jackson girls’ basketball: The 5-11 senior scored 37 points, making nine 3-pointers, to go with 15 rebounds, five assists and one steal in a 74-22 win over Lee Central on Dec. 9.

Nelson finished the week with 23 points, six assists, two rebounds and one steal in an 81-46 win at Maiden in the 828 Showcase on Dec. 13.

Clara Powell, Clover girls’ basketball: The 5-10 senior scored 10 points, had three rebounds, one steal and one block in a 61-18 win over West Mecklenburg on Dec. 12.

Powell also scored 16 points, grabbed six rebounds and three steals in a 52-4 win at York on Dec. 13.

Tre Raymon, South Pointe basketball: The 6-8 senior scored 15 points, had eight rebounds and four assists in a 44-36 win over Northwestern on Dec. 9.

Raymon also scored 26 points, grabbed seven rebounds and two assists in a 52-51 win over rival Rock Hill on Dec. 12.

Raymon is averaging 21.4 points and 7.8 rebounds for South Pointe (6-4) this season.

Jacob Suita, Legion Collegiate basketball: The 6-3 senior scored 19 points, had five rebounds and three assists in a 63-62 win at York Prep on Dec. 12.

Suita also scored 18 points, two rebounds and two assists in a 70-59 loss at Asheville School on Dec. 9.

Reid Whitesell, Rock Hill wrestling: The Bearcats’ junior won the 157-pound title at the Newton Conover Red Devils’ Super Duals on Dec. 12-13.

Whitesell was a perfect 9-0 in his run to the title at the same event.

Taylon Winker, Catawba Ridge wrestling: The Copperheads’ sophomore went 6-0 last week to win the 126-pound title at the Kingsley Wrestling Tournament in Fort Mill on Dec. 13.

Winker is 17-3 overall this season.
