Nelson also scored 19 points, and had two rebounds, two assists and two steals in a 59-44 victory at Northwestern on Jan. 9.

Nelson is averaging 21.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.3 steals per game for a Fort Mill team (15-3) that has won seven straight games.

Kamyla Torres, Rock Hill girls’ wrestling: The Bearcats’ junior went 3-0 to win the 100-pound title at the Phillip Reed Rumble at Glenn High (NC) in Winston-Salem on Jan. 10.

Torres is 28-5 overall this season.

Chase Walters, Nation Ford basketball: The 6-foot senior scored 12 points, grabbed three rebounds and had two assists in a 62-59 win at Indian Land on Jan. 6.

The next night, Walters scored 15 points, had one rebound, two assists and two steals in a 52-41 victory over River Bluff.

Walters finished off the week with nine points, eight rebounds, four assists and one steal in a 56-36 win over Rock Hill.
