VOLLEYBALL

Fort Mill 3, Clover 1

The Yellow Jackets won 25-19, 25-17, 22-25, 25-19 over the Blue Eagles in a Region 3-4A contest at Clover.

Fort Mill was led by Brooke Farley with 45 assists, Tessa Grubbs with 31 kills, and Payton Carter with 15 kills and 10 digs.

The win improved Fort Mill to 8-0 in the region, the only unbeaten team in region play. The loss dropped Clover to 2-5 in the region.

Gaffney 3, Rock Hill 2

The Indians came from behind to edge the Bearcats 19-25, 23-25, 25-4, 25-23, 25-9 in a Region 3-4A battle at Gaffney.

The win improved Gaffney to 4-4 in region play, while the loss dropped Rock Hill to 2-6 in the region.

Northwestern 3, York 0

The Trojans won 25-10, 25-11, 25-20 over the Cougars in a Region 3-4A match at Northwestern.

The win improved the Trojans to 5-3 in region play, while the loss dropped York to 0-8 in the region.

GIRLS’ CROSS COUNTRY

The Indian Land girls finished 16th in a 45-team field at the Low Country Invitational in Charleston.

Lauren Sizemore, a seventh-grader, led the way for the Warriors with a time of 20 minutes, 24 seconds, which gave her a 34th-place finish. Kaitlyn Rodman ran the course in a time of 20:27, which was 37th best on the day.

Baileigh Sizemore was the third fastest for Indian Land with a time of 22:07. Braeden Rushing was the fourth-best finisher for the Warriors with a time of 22:30, while Chloe Sherman completed the top five for Indian Land with a time of 23:24.

BOYS’ CROSS COUNTRY

The Indian Land boys finished 23rd in a 54-team field at the Low Country Invitational in Charleston.

Austin St. John led the Warriors with a time of 17:24, which was good enough for 42nd place. Conor Leyland ran a time of 18:48, while Orevis Suvillaga finished in 19:25. James Mulvaney turned in a time of 20:03, while Michael Mulvaney rounded out the top five for Indian Land with a time of 20:50.
