High school roundup: Marshall scores 25 to lead Chester girls to win

The Chester Cyclones raced to a 30-18 halftime lead and toppled the Blythewood Bengals 54-47 in a non-region game at Chester Tuesday night.

Deja Marshall led the Cyclones with 25 points. Browniee McCrorey added 16 to the winning effort for Chester.

The Gaffney Indians edged the Clover Blue Eagles 49-46 in a Region 3-4A contest at Gaffney.

Mikenzi Walker led the way for the fifth-ranked Indians with 15 points. Jamashia Foster added 13 points for Gaffney, which improved to 3-0 in region play.

The loss dropped Clover to 0-3 in the region.

South Pointe 51, Dutch Fork 48

The South Pointe Stallions picked up a 51-48 win against the Dutch Fork Silver Foxes in a non-region contest at Dutch Fork.

The York Prep Patriots, fresh from winning the Comporium Christmas Classic, showed no signs of slowing down as they defeated Kennedy Charter 98-65 in a non-region contest on Monday.

The Patriots were led by Jaron Williams, who finished with a game-high 20 points.

The victory improved the Patriots to 16-4 on the year.
