Lewisville girls have strong second half, down Great Falls Friday

Lewisville 44, Great Falls 35

The Lewisville Lions pulled away from Great Falls in the second half and picked up a 44-35 win over the Red Devils in a Region 3-A game Friday night at Richburg.

Lewisville guard Jordan Green had a huge hand in the Lions' victory, scoring a game-high 20 points, a large portion from steals and close defending.

Katlyn Fossett added six points for the Lions. Hayva Trotter led Great Falls with 13.

Lewisville improved to 5-14 overall and 4-4 in the region. It was Lewisville’s second win over Great Falls in as many nights.

Rock Hill 53, York 26

The Rock Hill Bearcats raced to a 30-12 lead at halftime and cruised to a 53-26 win over the York Cougars in a Region 3-4A game at Rock Hill.

Kendall Lahr led the Bearcats with 13 points as they clinched the region championship. Ten players scored for Rock Hill in the game.

The Bearcats improved to 21-2 overall and 10-0 in the region with the victory. They remain as the only unbeaten team in region play. York fell to 4-7 in the region with the loss.

Gaffney 48, Fort Mill 32

The Gaffney Indians used a strong second quarter to take a 28-11 halftime lead and defeat the Fort Mill Yellow Jackets 48-32 in a Region 3-4A game at Gaffney.

The Indians led 8-2 after one period, but outscored Fort Mill 20-9 in the second period to take the lead at intermission.

Gaffney improved to 9-2 in the region with the win. The loss dropped Fort Mill to 4-6 in region action.

Chester 67, Broome 29

The Chester Cyclones broke on top 19-4 after one period and routed the Broome Centurions 67-29 in a Region 3-3A contest at Chester.

Deja Marshall led the Cyclones with 38 points. Browniee McCrorey joined her in double figures with 12 points.

The Rock Hill Bearcats pulled away in the final period to pick up a 73-63 win over the York Cougars in a Region 3-4A game at Rock Hill.

The Bearcats broke a 52-all tie after three periods by outscoring the Cougars 21-11 in the final quarter.

Japree Perry led the Bearcats with 20 points. Andrew Barber added 14 to the winning effort for Rock Hill.

The win improved Rock Hill to 3-7 in the region. The loss dropped York to 0-11 in region play.

The Fort Mill Yellow Jackets defeated the Gaffney Indians 62-58 in a Region 3-4A battle at Gaffney.

With the game tied at 45-all after three periods, the Yellow Jackets outscored the Indians 17-13 in the final stanza to pick up the hard-fought road win.

Fort Mill improved to 9-1 in the region. The Jackets are in first place in the region. Gaffney fell to 6-5 in region play with the loss.

The Chester Cyclones defeated the Broome Centurions 86-70 in a Region 3-3A game at Chester.

Lewisville 48, Great Falls 41

The Lewisville Lions broke open a close game in the third period and went on to defeat the Great Falls Red Devils 48-41 in a Region 3-A contest at Great Falls Thursday night.

Jordan Greene led the Lions with 18 points and 5 rebounds. Amber Jordan added 14 points and pulled down 11 rebounds. Sha’Tarria chipped in nine points for the Lions.

The win improved Lewisville to 4-14 overall and 3-4 in the region.
