High school roundup: local basketball players named All-State

The South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association named its All-State teams Wednesday afternoon with eight locals included.

Lancaster’s Malia Rivers, the reigning All-Area girls’ basketball player of the year, made the cut for the second straight year. Chester senior De’Ja Marshall joined Rivers on the 3A list, and Rock Hill sophomore RiKoya Anderson made the 4A team.

Fort Mill’s Tanner Mitchell and Clover’s Quise Robbins were picked for 4A boys’ All-State. South Pointe’s Quay Brown and Chester’s Malik Williams were named to the 3A list and Lewisville junior Mike Hill made it in 1A.
