High school roundup: Northwestern, Lewisville baseball ranked in state’s top 10
The South Carolina Baseball Coaches Association announced its weekly rankings, and two area teams are in this week’s top 10. Northwestern is fifth in Class 4A, while Lewisville is sixth in Class A.

Fort Mill 12, Northwestern 2: Fort Mill scored in every inning and defeated Northwestern in a Region 3-4A game at Fort Mill on Thursday.
The win was Fort Mill’s third in as many outings in the region.

Baseball
Central Pageland 10, Indian Land 0: Central Pageland beat Indian Land in a Region 4-2A contest on Wednesday night at Pageland.
Central scored three runs in the third and never looked back.
Dusty Burch picked up the win for Central. He struck out seven and scattered two hits. Nolan Bolt took the loss for Indian Land.
Daniel Gueldner led Indian Land on offense. He reached base three times, including a single in the third.
Lamar 9, Lewisville 0: Lamar topped Lewisville in a battle of two top 10 teams in a Region 3-A game at Lamar.
Daniel Galloway picked up the win for Lamar. He scattered four hits.
The loss was the first for sixth-ranked Lewisville after a pair of wins. Lewisville is now 1-1 in region play.
Softball
Lewisville 7, Indian Land 5: Lewisville collected 10 hits and defeated Indian Land in a non-region game at Richburg.
Tori Ernandez picked up the win to improve to 2-0 on the year.
Lewisville is now 4-1 on the year with the victory.

Girls’ Soccer
Indian Land 6, Lancaster 0: Indian Land topped Lancaster in a non-region game at Lancaster.
Katherine Kilroy led Indian Land with two goals. Kelsey Long, Kate Komorous, C.C. Thompson, and Emily Gerdes also had goals for Indian Land.
Gerdes and Long had one assist each for Indian Land.
Indian Land, which led 4-0 at halftime, outshot Lancaster 27-1 for the match. Emma Thompson was in the goal for Indian Land and recorded the shutout.
Third-ranked Indian Land is 10-0 on the year.
