Little change in Sept. 19 HS football state rankings

The latest South Carolina high school football state rankings are out and remain mostly the same, especially for schools from The Herald’s coverage area.

South Pointe’s impressive road win at Buford (Ga.) certainly did the Stallions’ no harm in the polls. South Pointe remains where it has all season, as a unanimous No. 1 team in 4A football. Chester gained ground with Fairfield Central’s loss, the Cyclones moving up to No. 5 in 3A. And Lewisville is No. 3 in 1A coming off a blowout win over Eau Claire.
