Hawgs of the Week: Barnes and Freeman both graded 93 percent
Keavius Barnes, Lancaster - Barnes graded 93 percent in Lancaster’s win over Lugoff-Elgin, posted four pancake blocks and allowing no sacks.
Six-foot-3 and 325 pounds, Barnes is an excellent pass protector and, according to Lancaster assistant coach Joe Watson, gets his hands on defenders quickly in the run game. The senior is an A/B student in school and is getting recruiting interest from South Carolina State, VMI and Catawba.
Keyshawn Freeman, South Pointe - senior tackle graded 93 percent during the Stallions’ shutout of Shelby, posting three big-time blocks, one pancake and not allowing a sack. Freeman is a two-year starter for the Stallions and the team’s most athletic lineman, according to OL coach Mike Zapolnik.
