How did locals do in the North-South all-star football game?
South Pointe’s Steven Gilmore Jr. starred as the North all-stars dropped their South counterparts 24-12 in the Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Bowl in Myrtle Beach Saturday.
Gilmore Jr. caught seven passes for 83 yards and a touchdown and finished with a team-high 140 yards of offense, counting his kick returns. The Stallions senior returned two kickoffs for 44 yards and a punt for 13 yards, earning North co-MVP honors. His five-yard touchdown catch late in the third quarter put the game beyond the South all-stars.

▪ Northwestern receiver Jordan Starkes caught two passes for 13 yards and made a tackle.
▪ Fort Mill’s Ryan Heriot recorded two tackles and caught a nine-yard pass.
▪ York receiver Zion Walker caught a five-yard pass.
▪ Northwestern defensive lineman Chance Miller made a tackle.
▪ South Pointe safety/linebacker B.J. Davis made three tackles, including one for a loss.
▪ Chester’s John Erby (wide receiver) and Lancaster’s Kevius Barnes didn’t show up on the stat sheet. Barnes started on the offensive line for the North all-stars.
