How to watch locals during college football bowl season
Five college football teams with local players are playing bowl games of interest to fans in the York County area.
Buffalo and standout receiver Anthony Johnson (South Pointe) will not be playing in a bowl game after the Bulls were passed over despite finishing 6-6. Johnson’s standout junior season comes to an end, but he is still earning recognition, including last week. Pro Football Focus named him a first team All-American, based on his 89.8 grade-out. Johnson finished the fall with 76 catches for 1,356 yards and 14 touchdowns, all among the nation’s leaders in those categories.
Six other local players’ seasons aren’t finished yet. Find out where these guys are playing during college football’s bowl season:
Malik Williams and Beau Nunn, Appalachian State - Williams (Chester) and Nunn (York) will play a bowl game in Alabama for the third straight year, according to the Winston-Salem Journal, after the Moutaineers were paired with Toledo in the Dollar General Bowl in Mobile, Ala.
