Nation Ford 47, Chapin 41

The Nation Ford Falcons broke a 34-34 tie after three quarters and defeated the Chapin Eagles 47-41 in a non-region game at Nation Ford Friday night.

The teams battled on nearly even terms all night, but the Falcons pulled away in the fourth period for the win.

Chapin led 14-10 after one period, but the Falcons regrouped and went in front 27-20 at halftime. Jerrick Foster scored one touchdown for the Falcons in the first half. Gabe Huitt passed for two first half scores, and Quinn Castner kicked a 20-yard field goal to account for the Nation Ford points.

Castner opened the scoring after intermission with a 42-yard field goal and the Falcons led 27-20. Nathan Mahaffey added a touchdown on a one-yard run and the Falcons were in front 34-20 with 7:08 left in the third period.

Chapin scored twice to tie the count at 34-34 heading to the fourth quarter. Connor Lehmann got in from one-yard out for the first one, and Roger Pedroni’s touchdown pass tied the count.

Mahaffey broke the tie with a two-yard run and Nation Ford was in front 41-34 with 8:13 left in the contest. Foster gave the Falcons some breathing room with a 36-yard scamper for a 47-34 advantage with 2:45 to play.

Chapin did not quit. They scored in the final minute to cut the deficit to 47-41. The ensuing onside kick went out of bounds, and the Falcons ran out the clock.

Nation Ford finished the regular season with an overall record of 6-4 and a region mark of 2-2. They will be in the playoffs next week as the third seed from the region.

Ridge View 35, Lancaster 9

Ridge View took a 14-3 lead at halftime and cruised to a 35-9 win over the Lancaster Bruins in a Region 3-4A game at Lancaster Friday night.

Ridge View added another touchdown in the third period for a 21-3 advantage. They outscored the Bruins 14-6 in the fourth quarter to close out the game.

The Bruins finished the regular season with an overall record of 2-8 and a region mark of 1-4.

Indian Land 28, Fairfield Central 14

The Indian Warriors erased a 7-6 deficit at halftime and defeated Fairfield Central 28-14 in a Region 4-3A game at Fairfield Central Friday night.

The Warriors scored 14 points in the third period and led 21-14 when it was over. They added their final touchdown in the fourth period to pick up the big region victory.

Indian Land finished the regular season with an overall record of 5-6 and a region mark of 2-2. They tied with Fairfield Central for the third spot in the region, but claimed the third seed in the playoffs on the tie-breaker.

Lewisville 34, Chesterfield 24

The Lewisville Lions came from behind in the fourth period and defeated Chesterfield 34-24 in a Region 4-2A game at Chesterfield Friday night.

Chesterfield broke a 7-7 tie after one period and took a 17-14 lead at intermission. The two teams traded touchdowns in the third period, and Chesterfield was in front 24-21 when the final quarter began.

The Lions rallied for two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to pick up the win and advance to the playoffs.

Lewisville finished the regular season with an overall record of 4-6 and a region mark of 2-4.

Great Falls 20, Timmonsville 14

The Great Falls Red Devils scored 14 points in the second half to take a 20-14 victory over Timmonsville in a Region 3-A game at Timmonsville Friday night.

Timmonsville led 8-6 at halftime, but the Red Devils tied it at 8-8 midway through the third period. They took a 14-8 lead with 36 seconds left in the third quarter.

Timmonsville tied it at 14 midway through the fourth period, but the Red Devils scored late in the game to pick up the win and advance to the post season as the third seed from the region.

Great Falls is 5-4 overall and 1-2 in the region. They are in the playoffs for the first time in five years.

Legion Collegiate 35, Forest Hills 12

The Legion Collegiate Lancers took a 14-6 lead at halftime and went on to a 35-12 win over Forest Hills in a non-region game at Forest Hills Friday night.

The Lancers led 21-6 when the third period was over, and they added two more touchdowns in the fourth quarter to close out the game.

Legion Collegiate finished the year with a 7-2 record.
