Clover 18, Nation Ford 15
The Clover Blue Eagles edged the Nation Ford Falcons 18-15 in a Region 3-5A game at Nation Ford.
Clover struck first when quarterback River Joye passed to Elijah Farmer on a 67-yard play. The PAT was no good, and the Blue Eagles had a 6-0 lead, which they kept through the end of the first quarter.
The Falcons countered midway through the second period when quarterback Carson Black scored on a three-yard run. Evan Cox kicked the PAT, and Nation Ford was up 7-6. The touchdown drive was set up when Donovan Pittman intercepted a Clover pass.
After a scoreless third quarter, the Blue Eagles regained the lead when Joye passed to Jy Martin on a 34-yard play. The try for two was no good, and Clover led 12-7.
The Falcons answered in a hurry. Jeremiah Hailstock returned the ensuing kickoff 74 yards for a touchdown. Black passed to Brooks Johnson for the two-point conversion, and Nation Ford led 15-12.
Clover took the lead on their next possession. Kaevon Gardner capped the march with a two-yard run, but the try for two was no good. That left the Blue Eagles with an 18-15 advantage with 3:56 to play in the game.
Clover improved to 3-1 in the region and 4-4 overall. Nation Ford fell to 2-2 in region play and 4-5 in all games. Both teams will be in the playoffs next week.
Indian Land 48, Lancaster 6
The Indian Land Warriors scored in every quarter and ripped the Lancaster Bruins 48-6 in a Region 3-4A game at Indian Land.
The Warriors led 20-0 after one quarter and 27-0 at halftime.
Lancaster cut the deficit to 27-6 with a third period touchdown. The Warriors added two more scores for a 41-6 cushion after three periods. Indian Land completed the scoring with a touchdown in the final 12 minutes.
Indian Land improved to 1-3 in region play and 5-3 in all games. They will be in the playoffs next week. The Bruins completed their season with 0-4 region record and a 2-5 overall mark.
Gaffney 48, Fort Mill 14
The Gaffney Indians scored in every quarter and routed the Fort Mill Yellow Jackets 48-14 in a Region 3-5A game at Gaffney.
The Indians led 17-0 after one period and upped the count to 34-0 at intermission.
They added another score for a 41-0 lead after three periods. The Indians completed their scoring early in the final quarter for a 48-0 lead before the Jackets added two touchdowns.
Gaffney improved to 4-0 in the region and 10-0 in all games. The Yellow Jackets ended their season with an 0-4 region mark and an overall record of 1-8.
Legion Collegiate 33, Estill 14
The Legion Collegiate Lancers defeated the Estill Gators 33-14 in a non-region game in Estill.
Legion Collegiate erased an early 8-7 deficit and led 26-8 at halftime. They added another score for a 33-8 lead, before the Gators ended the scoring in the fourth quarter.
The Lancers improved to 3-4 with the win, while Estill dropped to 3-7 on the year.
