Rock Hill Herald Football Players of the Week Nominees
Tyler Fikis, Catawba Ridge Football: The 6-foot 175-pound quarterback went 8-for-13 passing for 103 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing for 154 yards and three more scores in a 63-28 win over Riverside in the first round of the 4A state playoffs, Nov. 4.
Catawba Ridge is 10-1 overall this season.
Greer Hopkins, Northwestern Football: The 5-foot-8, 152-pound quarterback/wide receiver/kicker did a little bit of everything to help Northwestern to a 64-7 win over Wade Hampton in the opening round of the 4A state playoffs, Nov. 4.
Hopkins rushed for 60 yards and a touchdown on five carries, while also going 7-for-9 for 75 yards and a touchdown, and catching two passes for 10 yards and one more score.
Hopkins also added an extra point and six touchbacks on kickoffs as the Trojans’ kicker in the same game for Northwestern (10-1).
Jaden Singletary, Indian Land Football: The 5-foot-10, 185-pound running back/linebacker rushed 189 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries to lead the Warriors to a 41-20, 4A first round playoff win at Laurens, Nov. 4.
Singletary also had 10 tackles, one pass break-up and one fumble recovery on defense in the same game for Indian Land (7-4).
