Teams are looking to hit their strides and clean up early-season mistakes as they move closer to region play.

Games become a bit more urgent as positioning in the state playoffs will be determined.

Here’s this week schedule for Rock Hill region schools. All games are scheduled to kickoff at 7:30 p.m.

York (2-1) at Rock Hill (2-1)

Rock Hill bounced back from a season-opening loss to win its last two games and will look to extend its win streak to three games when they welcome a York team coming off a close loss to rival Clover.

South Florence (4-0) at South Pointe (3-1)

South Pointe -- the No. 4-ranked 4A team in the state -- will look to make it four wins in five games this season when they take on the reigning 4A state champion and top-ranked 4A team in the state. The Stallions are coming off a shutout win over Chester last week.

Northwestern (2-1) at Gaffney (3-1)

Northwestern heads over to Gaffney in a battle between top-three teams in their respective classes (Northwestern is No. 3 in 4A; Gaffney is No. 2 in 5A). The Trojans are looking for their first win in the series since 2017.

Trinity Christian (2-0) at Indian Land (3-1)

After a big win over Fort Mill, Indian Land aims to extend its win streak to four games when Trinity Christian comes into town. The visiting Crusaders from Fayetteville, N.C., have not allowed a single point in their two games this season.

Catawba Ridge (1-3) at Chester (3-1)

Both teams are looking to get things back on track. Since a season-opening 35-14 win over Fort Mill, Catawba Ridge has dropped three straight and scored 40 points in total; Chester lost its first game of the season last week against South Pointe. It was Chester’s first shutout since 2014. Catawba Ridge won last year’s matchup 45-27.

Carolina Bearcats (1-0) at Buford (1-3)

Coming off a shutout win over South Carolina Spartans, Buford looks to make it two wins in a row when they take on a Carolina Bearcats team from Matthews, N.C.

Andrew Jackson (1-2) at Lakewood (1-3)

Andrew Jackson wants to get back to .500 on the season as the Volunteers travel to Sumter to face a Lakewood team that has not scored more than 20 points in a game all season. Andrew Jackson won last year’s contest 41-0.

Ridge Spring-Monetta (0-3) at Lewisville (3-1)

Lewisville is coming off its third shutout win in a row and will look to make it four straight wins against a Ridge-Spring Monetta team that has lost its three games by an average of 31 points.

Hickory Hawks (0-4) at Great Falls (1-3)

Great Falls will look to bounce back from a 35-point loss to Columbia when the Hickory Hawks come to town. They are scoring less than 10 points a game and allowing over 40 points a game.
