Prep football schedule: Who’s playing this week in the Rock Hill region

Teams continue their quest for region championships as they head into their second week of region play.

Here’s this week’s schedule for Rock Hill region schools. All games are scheduled to kickoff at 7:30 p.m.

Rock Hill (3-3) at Fort Mill (1-5)

After a dominant 44-7 victory over Spring Valley, Rock Hill has already won more games than in each of the past three seasons. The Bearcats will look to add another region victory when they travel to face a Fort Mill team coming off a 27-7 loss to Blythewood.

Indian Land (4-2) at Northwestern (5-1)

Northwestern is coming off a 59-6 blowout win over Lancaster, and the Trojans will look to extend their win streak to six when they welcome Indian Land to District Three Stadium. The Warriors just had their four-game win streak snapped in a 28-20 loss to York last week.

Lancaster (0-6) at South Pointe (4-2)

South Pointe got back in the win column with a 31-3 win over Catawba Ridge in their season opener and will look to open 2-0 in the region against a Lancaster team that has been outscored 101-14 over its last two games.

Catawba Ridge (1-5) at York (5-1)

York looks to keep rolling as the Cougars host a Catawba Ridge team that has dropped five straight since its season-opening win over Fort Mill. The Copperheads have yet to eclipse 20 points since that victory over the Yellow Jackets.

Nation Ford (2-4) at Blythewood (3-3)

Nation Ford moves off a 30-point shutout loss to Clover and will look to snap a three-game skid as they travel down to face Blythewood. The Bengals won last year’s contest 40-0. This game kicks off tonight at 7:30 p.m.

Spring Valley (0-5) at Clover (4-2)

Clover has continued to roll after its 0-2 start and will look to extend its win streak to five games when they welcome a Spring Valley team that is having a fair share of struggles offensively. The Vikings haven’t scored double-digit points in four of their five contests this season.

Union County (1-6) at Chester (6-1)

Chester picked up a 44-6 region-opening win at Woodruff last week and will look to extend its win streak to four when Union County comes to town. The Cyclones are averaging over 30 points per game this season, while the Yellow Jackets are allowing over 45 points per game this season.

Chesterfield (1-5) at Andrew Jackson (3-3)

Andrew Jackson’s quest for back-to-back region championships started with a 21-17 victory at Cheraw last week, and the Volunteers look to notch another region win against Chesterfield this week. The Golden Rams are coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

Buford (1-5) at North Central (2-4)

Buford suffered a 33-24 loss in its region opener against Central last week and will look to get back on track as the Yellow Jackets face a North Central team that snapped a four-game losing streak last week with a win over Chesterfield.

C.A. Johnson (4-3) at Great Falls (2-5)

Great Falls lost 61-28 to Whitmire last week and will look to bounce back against a C.A. Johnson team coming off a 35-6 loss to Lewisville.
