Hawgs of the Week video: York’s Enniss and South Pointe’s Bryant

The Herald’s Hawgs of the Week from Week Zero both helped their teams score impressive Week Zero blowout victories. Hawgs of the Week were nominated by their coaches and a winner was selected from two categories: the six 4A schools in The Herald’s coverage area, and the six 1A, 2A and 3A schools.

4A schools

Ryan Enniss, York- senior offensive tackle graded 93 percent with two knockdowns during the Cougars’ 35-9 road win over Sumter. Enniss is an honors student with heavy recruiting interest from Coastal Carolina, Appalachian State, Charlotte and other schools. He helped the Cougars run for 191 yards and four touchdowns in the win.

1A-3A schools

Lamon Bryant, South Pointe- senior offensive guard helped the Stallions to a 30-7 season-opening win over Nation Ford on Friday. Bryant, a 6-foot-2, 290 pound first-year starter, made five big blocks, according to Stallions offensive line coach Mike Zapolnik, allowed no sacks and helped pave the way for South Pointe’s 222 yards rushing, an average of nearly nine yards per carry.
