Boiling Springs team struggles, but prevails against Nation Ford
The Nation Ford Falcons and Boiling Springs Bulldogs both struggled in different aspects of the game, but it was the Bulldogs who got the 42-26 win despite a late fourth-quarter rally by the Falcons.
Nation Ford struggle to hold onto the ball fumbling twice in the first half, while Boiling Springs was penalized 20 times for a total of 173 yards in the game. There were 31 penalties in the game between both teams.
The Bulldogs controlled the clock early on as Nation Ford’s defense struggled to stop them. Bulldogs’ Brendon Robinson kept the Nation Ford defense constantly playing catch-up.
Nation Ford’s offense showed signs of a spark at times, but the Boiling Springs defense was just that much better in the first half.
The Falcons went back to its bread and butter offensively by throwing the ball more than it did in its season opener with South Pointe.
Turning point
On its first drive of the second quarter, Nation Ford was knocking on the door of the end zone when they fumbled for the second time of the game killing the drive. They were trailing 14-6 at the time of the miscue.
Critical
Boiling Springs scored its third touchdown with 25 seconds left in the first half to make it 21-6. Bulldogs quarterback Mason Streater hit Brendon Robinson for the 14-yard score as it capped off an eight play drive.

Nation Ford quarterback Cole Martin played well under center spreading his targets around to his receivers. He passed for 344 yards on 27 of 47 attempts. Boiling Springs’ Robinson carried the load for the Bulldogs, rushing for 308 yards on 29 carries. Streater threw for 260 yards.

Nation Ford stays at home for the third consecutive week to start the season hosting Lugoff-Elgin.
