Video: Nation Ford’s Peoples and Indian Land’s Williams are Hawgs of the Week

Damian Peoples, Nation Ford: Nation Ford piled up offense on Friday during its 55-0 rout of Greenville and solid offensive line play was a big reason why. Quarterback Cole Martin threw seven touchdown passes and was hardly troubled throughout the night. Peoples’ play up front contributed to that excellent outing. The 6-foot-1, 240-pound junior graded out at 90 percent with three knockdowns and a pair of downfield blocks that sprung big gains. People is a first-year starter on the Falcons’ offensive line, but has blended in quickly according to offensive line coach Paul Richardson, who called him “one of my best linemen.” Peoples is involved with the Young Life youth group and boasts a 3.96 grade point average.

Jacob Williams, Indian Land: The Warriors threw one pass in the second half of last week’s 27-14 win over Lewisville, an indicator of the team’s reliance on its run game. Williams, a 6-foot-1, 255-pound senior, is one of the cogs of that run game, which has gained at least 230 yards in all three games. Williams graded out at 84 percent against Lewisville, with four pancake blocks. Williams has already been accepted to Clemson, thanks in part to his 1400 SAT score. He’s ranked 24th in Indian Land’s senior class of nearly 200 students.
