Former Fort Mill Yellow Jacket Tony Godbolt was named honorable mention All-American by the National Christian College Athletic Association this week.

Godbolt, a junior defensive back at North Greenville, has started every game for the Crusaders since his freshman year. He made 62 tackles this season - with four for a loss - broke up three passes and intercepted another, while also forcing a fumble. Godbolt is one of 18 starters that return for NGU next season.

Jeter adds to awards haul

Former Rock Hill Bearcat Mitchell Jeter was named the Southern Conference defensive player of the year recently, and added an All-American claim to his award cabinet on Wednesday.

The Citadel senior defensive tackle was named Football Championship Series first team All-American by the web site College Sports Madness, joining two other teammates that were named to the second and third teams.

Jeter produced 12 tackles-for-loss and 8.5 sacks this season, and finished second all-time in Citadel history in sacks (20), and sixth in tackles-for-loss (32).
