Speaking of the Trojans, rising senior running back Jerry Howard got his college choice out of the way this week, opting to commit to East Carolina. A powerful first team All-Area running back for the 4A Division II state champs last fall, Howard rushed for over 1,500 yards and 19 touchdowns. He’ll join former Northwestern standout Corey Seargent as a Pirate in Greenville, N.C.

Northwestern QB Gage Moloney also made his college decision, picking Ohio University from a number of scholarship offers. Moloney’s recruitment was picking up quickly headed into the summer but he decided to end with a commitment to the Bobcats. He threw for nearly 4,000 yards last season, with 47 touchdown passes and just five interceptions. Moloney also scored 16 rushing touchdowns.
