Knights enter break after 7-5 home defeat
FORT MILL -- Columbus scored six runs in the top of the third inning and never looked back in a 7-5 victory over Charlotte Sunday.
Clippers catcher Juan Brito led the way, going 2-for-4 with four RBIs. The Knights pulled within two when Jason Bourgeois hit a two-run triple in the bottom of the fourth to make it 6-4.
Bourgeios went 2-for-5 with two RBIs on the day.
Levale Speigner (2-1, 4.61 ERA) got the win for Columbus, with Chris Booker picking up his 23rd save. Lance Broadway (5-5, 3.94) took the loss for the Knights.
The Knights begin their All-Star break today and return to action Thursday with a four-game road trip to Columbus and Toledo.
The Knights return home July 16 with a four-game series against Buffalo.
