Knights down PawSox

FORT MILL -- A night after they blew a six-run lead, the Charlotte Knights weren't about to let history repeat itself as they defeated Pawtucket 9-3 on Tuesday.

Tied 3-3 going into the bottom of the seventh, the Knights exploded for six runs and never looked back. The Knights scored their first three runs on solo home runs by Chris Getz, Fernando Cortez and Brad Eldred. For Eldred, it meant adding to his league-leading RBI total of 54.

Knights starting pitcher -- and former Red Sox starter -- Tomo Ohka pitched well, going six innings, giving up seven hits, three runs and striking out seven PawSox batters on the night.

Adam Russell (3-0) picked up the win for the Knights. Devern Hansack (2-7) took the loss for the PawSox.

The Knights continue their homestand with the Pawtucket Red Sox tonight at 7:15. Charlie Haeger (3-4, 4.89) will start for Charlotte. He will face off against Pawtucket's Clay Buchholz (0-0, 4.50).
