Murder cases against all four suspects accused of roles in the murder of a Fort Mill man whose body was dumped in Lancaster County can proceed after a judge ruled Wednesday there is probable cause against the defendants, according to court records and prosecutors.

Randy Tran, 20, was found shot to death on Little River Road in northern Lancaster County April 5, after neighbors claim they say David Kucinski, 21, of Fort Mill, moving a body from the trunk of a car. Police and prosecutors later said it was Tran’s body and car and the motive for murder was a drug ripoff of six pounds of marijuana.

Police arrested Kucinski days later at a Charlotte motel days later. Deputies later charged Nachon Hayden, 22, Chris Glass, 22, and Tony Maynard, 21, in connection to the killing. All four face murder charges and remain jailed without bond at the Lancaster County jail.

Prosecutors have said in previous court hearings that the motive for the crime was the theft of six pounds of marijuana from Tran. In those previous hearings, prosecutors have said the defendants have pointed the finger of blame as being the shooter at each other and have text messages and other evidence implicating all of them, but under South Carolina’s ‘hand of one, hand of all’ law all four face murder charges.

After the preliminary hearing Wednesday a magistrate ruled that police and prosecutors had probable cause to arrest all four and continue with the case. The next step will be presenting the cases to a Lancaster County grand jury.
