Developing: School closings lead to changes in basketball schedules across Tri-County

Several high school basketball games originally slated for Friday night have been rescheduled due to the cancellation of public schools in York, Chester and Lancaster counties.

Here’s what we know.

High school basketball updates

  • York at South Pointe: This pair of contests has been rescheduled for Thursday, Feb. 13, per the South Pointe girls’ team coach’s Twitter account. The girls’ game is at 6 p.m.; the boys’ game is at 7:30 p.m.
  • Northwestern at Nation Ford: This event has been postponed to Monday, Feb. 10, per a Nation Ford team Twitter account. The girls’ game will start at 6:30 p.m.; the boys’ game will start at 8 p.m.
  • Fort Mill at Clover: This event has been rescheduled for Monday, Feb. 10, per a Clover spokesman.

  • Wesleyan Christian at York Prep: The boys’ and girls’ games have been canceled, per an email from athletic director Mike Drummond. Saturday games against Carmel Christian are still on as previously scheduled: 12 p.m. (girls) and 1:30 p.m. (boys).

  • Andrew Jackson at Lewisville: The boys’ and girls’ games have been postponed to Wednesday, Feb. 12, per an email from athletic director Rusty Pemberton.

  • Lancaster at Westwood: Games at Westwood scheduled for Friday have been moved to Saturday, Feb. 8. The girls’ team plays at noon and the boys’ team plays at 1:30 p.m.

  • Timmonsville at Great Falls: This matchup originally scheduled for Friday night have been moved to Monday, Feb. 10. The girls’ team plays at 6 p.m. and the boys at 7:30 p.m. The homecoming festivities originally planned for Friday have been canceled.
