Indian Land will be buzzing as a new cake and cupcake shop celebrates its grand opening

B'zzz Cakes

There’s a buzz around Indian Land, with a new custom cake shop warming the oven for a grand opening.

B’zzz Cakes hosts the event 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday. The 2018 Bridgemill Drive site off U.S. 521 is in the shopping center with That’s Amore Italian Grill and New York Butcher Shoppe. B’zzz Cakes will have giveaways and raffles throughout the day.

For owner Brenna Kolumba, the grand opening is the next step in what has proven a successful model in Indian Land.

“I have been living in Indian Land and was growing the business over the last five years,” Kolumba said. “Working from custom orders only. I am looking forward to being known as the go to stop for a special treat.”

Kolumba has more than a dozen years in the baking business. She’s baked for customers across the Carolinas. The Indian Land site will offer a variety of sweets.

“We are a grab and go style cake and cupcake shop,” Kolumba said. “We will carry 25-30 different cupcake flavors on any given day. We also have ready made celebration cakes.”

The shop also takes custom orders. Photos of past projects online show everything from wedding and kid birthday cakes to video game, sports team, pet and milestone birthday themes. One cake was even shaped like a pickle.

Kolumba wants the new shop to be a destination for all sorts of celebrations and quick treats in Indian Land.

“For a special last minute celebration or a gorgeous treat to bring to a dinner party, we will have it,” she said.
