Two of your favorite mall snacks are teaming up for a new spot in Lake Wylie

Two companies known for their warm, sweet baked goods are joining forces in Lake Wylie. And customers won’t have to go to a mall to find them.

Auntie Anne’s and Cinnabon are teaming up for a joint location at Mill Creek Commons, inside the Walmart at S.C. 274 and 557. The new location will open this summer.

Similar locations will follow across the Carolinas, according to a release from entrepreneur behind the project, Christopher Williams. That expansion is likely to focus on the Charlotte and Columbia, SC, markets.

“This first location allows us to establish the model,” Williams said.

Auntie Anne’s is a Pennsylvania-based company known for its pretzel buckets, nuggets and dogs. The menu includes cinnamon-sugar sweet snacks and cheesy or pepperoni mini dogs. Drinks include lemonade options, plus fruit smoothies.

The business is synonymous with malls, but Auntie Anne’s sites are also in airports, colleges, outlet centers, travel plazas, military bases and food trucks. Increasingly, they’re found in Walmart stores. There are more than 2,100 locations in 49 states and 26 countries.

None of the 19 South Carolina locations are in the Rock Hill region. Among 29 North Carolina sites, nine are in Charlotte, with one each in Pineville and Concord.

Like Cinnabon, Auntie Anne’s has a location inside Carowinds, but those sites are only open to park guests.

Atlanta-based Cinnabon is another snack option familiar to high-traffic areas like malls, food courts and airports. It’s exclusive cinnamon from Indonesia sweetens a line of frosted cinnamon rolls and Cinnasweeties donut holes. There are cookies, churros and cheesecake bites. It also has lemonades and other chilled drinks.

Cinnabon has stores nationwide and in more than 50 countries. One of the 29 South Carolina spots is in the Rock Hill region, inside the Flying J travel plaza on Mount Holly Road. North Carolina has 23 sites. There are five in Charlotte, with one each in Concord, Gastonia and Pineville.
