A new York County ice cream shop opens this weekend with a ‘dream’ sundae and more

Dreamery Creamery

The newest ice cream shop in York County will celebrate its grand opening Sunday in Lake Wylie.

Dreamery Creamery will be open noon to 8 p.m. Sunday. Owners Cameron and Victoria Lee are Lake Wylie residents who love ice cream, Victoria said. Their new shop at 4543 Charlotte Highway. will be a dream spot for others who love it, too.

“We offer large handmade sundaes, big enough to share, that can be customized any way you’d like,” Victoria said. “We offer several options on our menu that we think are dream worthy. But our customers are more than welcome to change up flavors, sauces and toppings to their tastes.”

The Only in My Dreams sundae is likely to be a crowd favorite. It’s the Creamery Dreamery take on a banana split.

“It’s large portions of chocolate, vanilla and strawberry ice creams, covered in fudge, strawberry and pineapple sauces, a banana and topped with whipped cream, nuts and a cherry,” Victoria said.

She said she believes the new concept will be a good fit for Lake Wylie because there isn’t anything quite like it in the area.

“We are less of a typical ice cream shop where you come get a scoop and take it out with you and more like a full service restaurant,” Victoria said. “We want customers to come in and enjoy their sundaes inside our shop while also enjoying one of our amazing dirty sodas.”

Dirty sodas are alcohol free “mocktails” that combine soda, flavors and cream. The Life’s a Dream, for instance, pairs Coca-Cola with vanilla, peach syrup and half and half. Victoria said the aim is to have customers enjoy more than just a scoop of ice cream.

“We want to serve our customers like they are there as our guests,” she said.

Menu items include apple and cherry pie flavors, peanut butter and chocolate combos, coffee ice cream, dreamsicle, root beer floats, milkshakes and more.
