The former Local Dish spot in downtown Fort Mill could have another local restaurant in it.

The Flipside Cafe announced Wednesday on its Facebook page that Fortes Mill Eatery, or FM Eatery, will open on Main Street. The online post says the opening will happen “hopefully later this year.”

The post mentions nine years as part of the Fort Mill food scene, both with Flipside and Salmeri’s.

“Cannot tell you how much the support from this community means to us,” the post says. “We have always wanted to be part of the downtown, Main Street vibe.”

Flipside is a local cafe by Amy and Jon Fortes. There’s also a Flipside in Rock Hill.

Local Dish was a staple in Fort Mill for a decade. It closed at 217 Main Street earlier this year. It had led a downtown revitalization that now includes Main Street eateries like Hobo’s, Emmet’s Social Table, Amor Artis Brewing, The Improper Pig and others.
