Plans are in for almost 100 more Indian Land homes. Here’s the latest

Lancaster County

Lancaster County could grow by almost 100 more homes.

Eastwood Homes has applied to build a 99-lot subdivision on Pettus Farm Road and Old Pettus Place. The Pettus Pond development would cover about 61 acres. The property is south of Harrisburg Road in Indian Land.

A submitted site plan shows an access off Pettus Farm Road with eight new roads and three cul-de-sacs on the property. There’s also connection points from the site for future development.

There’s a central 3-acre park site with a walking trail, shown on the map, in wetland space. Several large retention ponds are shown. Streams run to the east/west and north/south.

The project will go before the county planning commission in a workshop Thursday. The planning commission will decide on the project at a later meeting.

In a separate case, the planning commission will review plans for a new Tidal Wave Auto Spa. The automated car wash would go on a gas station site at 4138 Dobys Bridge Road. A site plan shows access of both Dobys Bridge and U.S. 521, or Charlotte Highway. A more than 2,600-square-foot car wash building and an equipment room would face Charlotte Highway.
