A Lancaster manufacturer is expanding and adding jobs in Chester County

Italian environmental and land stabilization company Maccaferri is investing in a Chester County facility, tripling the footprint for one of its newly acquired companies.

Synteen Technical Fabrics, a soil reinforcement product company bought a year ago by Maccaferri, will move its production from Lancaster County to a renovated, nearly 134,000-square-foot site in Chester County. The move will create 75 jobs.

The companies didn’t give an investment amount or location of the Chester County facility in a press release announcement Wednesday. The Herald wasn’t immediately able to reach the company for further comment.

The existing 40,000-square-foot Lancaster facility will become a warehouse and logistics site for Synteen, according to the announcement. The expansion in Chester County will allow the company to add new product lines. It will be operational by September.

“The Fort Lawn facility improves our ability to support engineers, contractors and distribution partners with advanced engineered solutions,” said company North American Business Development Director John Lostumbo in the press release, “including our expanded on-site quality control laboratory.”
