Carowinds has new, free offer for parents with young kids this summer

Carowinds has a new offer that could make it easier for families in the Rock Hill region to find something fun to do this summer.

Through May 1, anyone with a season pass or membership to the theme park can add a free pass for children age 3 to 5. Children younger than that don’t need a pass. The free Pre-K pass is also good at nearly two dozen Six Flags parks across the country.

Carowinds is part of Six Flags Entertainment Corp., the Charlotte-based theme park company with parks in 13 states, Canada and Mexico.

Charlie Brown’s River Raft Blast is one of several rides for children at Carowinds. The theme park has a new offering for families with childre age 3 to 5.

Carowinds is a 400-acre theme park located on the state line between South Carolina and North Carolina, in both Fort Mill and Charlotte. It includes the large Carolina Harbor water park during the summer season.

Each season passholder or member can add up to two Pre-K passes.

Like typical season passes, the Pre-K pass offers unlimited trips to Carowinds this season. The park has entire sections devoted to young guests, including two of its newest features in Charlie Brown’s River Raft Blast and Snoopy’s Racing Railway.

Carowinds season passes range from $89 to $165 online, which translates to a $40-$60 discount compared to tickets at the gate.
