South State Bank to hold grand opening for downtown Rock Hill branch
South State Bank is holding a grand opening for its new downtown Rock Hill location, 222 E. Main St., from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday.
The bank is relocating its Rock Hill branch from 1274 E. Main St.
South State Bank moved into the building last used by by Bank of America. South State Bank announced the move in June.
With the move, South State Bank bank will expand its consumer and commercial lending services. Improvements to the building include an expanded drive-thru facility.
The Williamsburg-style building was opened in 1976 as the Rock Hill National Bank. The last tenant was Bank of America which closed its branch in March 2013. Some of the South State Bank leadership team initially worked for Rock Hill National Bank.
South State Bank has four other locations in the area: 1127 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill; 808 E. Tom Hall St., Fort Mill; 817 Dave Gibson Boulevard, Fort Mill; and 801 E. Liberty St., York.
