Coronavirus update: 13 new cases reported in York, 7 in Lancaster counties.

York County logged 13 new cases of COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, health officials reported Friday.

Chester County reported three more cases and Lancaster County added seven, according to the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control.

The state reported 447 new cases Friday, for a total of 13,453. Thirteen more deaths reported Friday bring the total to 538.

Eleven of the people who died were elderly individuals from Clarendon, Greenville, Horry, Orangeburg, Richland and Spartanburg counties, DHEC reports. Two middle-aged people from Charleston and Cherokee counties also died.
