Drivers on York County road may need to find detour for the next month
A section of S.C. Highway 97 will be closed starting Sept. 25 until the end of November, according to the South Carolina Department of Transportation.
S.C. 97, or Wylie Avenue, will be closed for repairs between Hickory Grove and Smyrna, according to SCDOT.
The road will be closed from north of Railroad Avenue to north of Ebenezer Road, a release says.
The 1,200 feet of Ebenezer Road leading up to S.C. 97 also will be closed, the release says.
The work is contracted out to Eagle Construction Co., SCDOT said.

Need a detour?
When traveling north on S.C. Highway 97, turn left onto Potato House Road, continue onto Legion Road and travel to the intersection of Main Street/Highway 97, , according to South Carolina Department of Transportation.
Or, when traveling north on S.C. 97, turn right onto York Street, then right onto Peachtree Street. Turn left onto Walnut Street, then left onto Ebenezer Road.
