Missing York County man, 65, found dead, police say

York County police asked for the public’s help Tuesday in finding a man with a mental condition that causes him to get lost easily.

On Wednesday morning, York County Sheriff’s Office told The Herald Danny L. Harris, 65, of Bowling Green Drive had been found deceased.

Harris was found in his truck on the York County side of Lake Wylie around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, said Trent Faris, sheriff’s office spokesperson. He was deceased when found, Faris said.

He was found off River Oaks Road near Pole Branch Road, Faris said.

Faris said found play is not suspected., and the sheriff’s office is continuing with a death investigation.

York deputies asked the public for help on Facebook and Twitter on Tuesday afternoon.

Lt. W.J Miller of York County Sheriff’s Office said Harris has an altered mental state that can cause him to forget where he is and get lost easily.
