Rock Hill man dies in motorcycle crash

A Rock Hill man died in a motorcycle crash Saturday, officials said.

The crash happened around 1:30 p.m. on Rawlsville Road near Neely Road in Rock Hill, said Lance Cpl. Gary Miller of South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The driver of a 2005 Suzuki motorcycle traveled off the left side of the road, struck a utility pole and hit a 2002 Mitsubishi legally parked on private property, Miller said. The driver was wearing a helmet and was ejected from the motorcycle, Miller said.

The driver, James Medina, 40, was pronounced dead at the scene, said York County Coroner Sabrina Gast.

No one was in the Mitsubishi, Miller said.
