Man commits suicide after shooting ex-girlfriend in Lancaster County, deputies say
The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an apparent murder-suicide Saturday night that left two people dead.
Officials said the incident happened around 10:45 p.m. on Bob White Road in the Rich Hill area of the county.
According to officials, a 24-year-old man shot his 27-year-old ex-girlfriend and then himself outside of the woman’s home on Bob White Road. The former couple were talking in the roadway behind the man’s truck, officials said.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said. The man was taken to the Medical University of South Carolina – Lancaster Medical Center where he died.
Lancaster County Coroner Karla Knight Deese said due to the circumstances of the incident, the office will not be releasing the names of the victims.
This is an active investigation.
