Man dead in Lancaster stabbing, deputies say. No charges have been filed.

One person has died after a stabbing incident in Lancaster, officials said.

The death happened Thursday night around 7:30 p.m. on Barbarosa Drive.

Coroner and sheriff’s officials identified the man who was fatally stabbed as Deon Demetrius Jenkins, 50. The death happened at the home where Jenkins lived with several other family members, said Barry Faile, Lancaster County Sheriff.

Jenkins attacked his mother and others, then threatened other family members with two knives before a nephew was able to get one of the knives away, Faile said,

No charges have been filed, Faile said. Deputies spoke with Randy Newman, 6th Circuit Solicitor, about the case.

Newman, the top prosecutor for Lancaster County, declined comment Friday on the case as the investigations continues.

“Right now we are still looking at what happened and are actively investigating what led up to this fatality,” Doug Barfield, spokesman for the sheriff’s office said.
