A new manufacturing site will bring $3.4 million of investment and 22 jobs to Indian Land by the end of the year.

According to a release from Gov. Henry McMaster’s office, REMBE Inc. will build a new facility in Bailes Ridge Corporate Park. REMBE Inc. specializes in explosion protection and pressure relief. Founded in 2006, it’s a subsidiary of REMBE GmbH.

“I know I speak for our team when I say that we are very excited to be taking the next steps to firmly establishing REMBE Inc. as a U.S.-based, full-service combustible dust explosion safety organization,” president and CEO Gerd Mayer. “We greatly appreciate the opportunity to move to a growing, progressive community that we can support and promote!”

The release states the company provides venting, explosion protection, venting pressure, vacuum relief and safety consulting work for manufacturing fields including grain, sugar, wood and metals.

The Indian Land site will serve as a home office and house company sales operations., warehousing and light manufacturing.

Jamie Gilbert, executive director for the county economic development office, said in a statement he looks forward to watching the operation grow here.

“REMBE Inc. could have located their new facility anywhere in the U.S. but chose Lancaster County,” Gilbert said. “This is another example of the tremendous strength our county affords businesses. REMBE Inc. is a first-class company that recognized that we offer an exceptional location for them to achieve their expansion goals.”

The facility should be online by December. Anyone interested in working for the company can email them at info@rembe.us.
