Woman killed, 2 others hurt in Rock Hill Heckle Boulevard crash, police say

One person was killed and two others were hurt in a car collision Saturday in Rock Hill, police said.

Krystle Edwards, 36, of Rock Hill, died at Piedmont Medical Center after the crash, said Sabrina Gast, York County Coroner.

The crash happened around 10:40 p.m in the 500 block of Heckle Boulevard, said Lt. Michael Chavis of the Rock Hill Police Department. The crash site on S.C. 901 is southeast of the intersection with South Cherry Road.

A 2005 Saturn with a driver and a passenger inside, and a 2000 Ford Mustang with a driver in the vehicle, were involved in the wreck, Chavis said.

Edwards, the person who died, was a passenger in the Saturn, police and coroner officials said.

The drivers of both cars were taken to PMC with serious injuries, according to Chavis. Their names and conditions have not been released.

The police department Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction (STAR) team is investigating the collision with the coroner’s office.
