Springs plant, YMCA and prominent restaurant among million-dollar sales near Rock Hill
May land sales across York, Lancaster and Chester counties include well-known manufacturing and restaurant sites, a YMCA branch and more.
County property records show 13 sales at $1 million or more. They combine for more than $28 million in sales price.
Here are those transactions:
▪ A Chester County manufacturing facility sold May 28 for $8.6 million. Springs Commerce Center sold the 71-acre Springs Close Plant site to Sky SC LLC. The plant includes more than 230,000 square feet of space.
▪ A more than 500-acre property in Lancaster County sold May 21 for $2.4 million. The agricultural site on Landsford Road sold from Wrenn Tree Farms to Environmental Banc & Exchange LLC out of Texas. It’s near Riverside and Fireside roads.
▪ Almost two acres of commercial vacant property sold May 14 for more than $2.1 million. The site at 1009 Heckle Boulevard in Rock Hill sold LLDC Heckle LLC to a private owner. The property is near the Heckle intersection with Cherry Road and McConnells Highway, between Heckle and Comer Road.
▪ The Chef’s Kitchen Catering site in Lake Wylie sold May 7 for $2.1 million. The seven acre property at 5301 Hwy. 557 from Gray Family Properties LTD to Levi LLC, based in Lake Wylie. The sale includes the roughly 9,000 square foot restaurant. Though it’s housed eateries by several different names and concepts since, the building is best known to many in the area as the former River Rat restaurant. The River Rat opened in 1979 and moved into the then new building in 1989. It remained under the same ownership until 2010.
▪ A more than three-acre commercial property at 4800 Old York Road in the Newport area of Rock Hill sold May 5 for $2 million. S&G Real Estate Investments 1 LLC out of St. Louis bought the site from Newport York Road LLC. It’s at the shopping center in Newport anchored by Walmart.
▪ An almost three-acre site at 4850 Old York Road, in the same area, sold May 25 for $1.6 million. The property has a 7,500-square-foot retail building on it, across from the Walmart shopping center in Newport. MP Old York SC LLC out of Columbia bought the site from CMBH Properties LLC.
▪ Johnston Residential bought less than two acres in Chester County from Colorado-based Patton Development. The May 21 sale was for almost $1.5 million. The property is located on JA Cochran Bypass, near its intersection with Old York Road.
▪ The former Gold Hill YMCA sold May 27 for $1.45 million. WTX Exploration LLC out of Fort Mill bought the two-acre property from Upper Palmetto YMCA. Upper Palmetto announced late last year that four York and Chester County branch sites, including Gold Hill, would close by the end of 2020.
▪ An acre property at 2811 Holbrook Road in Fort Mill sold May 6 for almost $1.4 million. It’s a new home site in The Ridge at Fort Mill.
▪ A 3,400-square-foot home at 3534 Aqua Point Drive in Lake Wylie sold May 17 for almost $1.4 million. The waterfront site is off Concord Cove.
▪ A combined 13 properties in Lancaster County sold May 11 for almost $1.5 million. The vacant properties are on Irongate and Acorn Hill drives, Split Gate Lane and Twelve Mile Creek Road. JCH Bent Creek LLC bought the acre-each properties from Twleve Mile Creek Land Ventures.
▪ A 55-acre site on U.S. 521 in Lancaster County sold May 28 for almost $1.2 million. Greyrock Holdings LLC bought the site between Charlotte Highway, Old Church and Rebound roads from Lone Star Land & Timber.
▪ A 2,200-square-foot home at 4597 River Oaks Drive in Lake Wylie sold May 7 for $1 million. The waterfront property is on Mill Creek.
