A Rock Hill man stopped in for a cup of coffee. Then he won the lottery.

A Rock Hill man on a coffee stop also bought a lottery ticket. Now he’ll be able to buy plenty.

According to the South Carolina Education Lottery, a man bought coffee and a The Big $pin ticket at Gee Gees Food Store on Saluda Street in Rock Hill. He scratched the barcode and scanned it on a ticket checker in the store. The automated message let him know he’d have to claim his winnings at the lottery office.

The man scratched the entire code to learn he’d won $300,000.

The odds of that win are 1 in 1.08 million. Three more top prizes remain in The Big $pin, a $10 lottery game. Gee Gees received $3,000 for selling the ticket.
